The River of Light Enterprise, Inc., often called ROLE, is more than an organization – it is a movement to transform our Nation one person – one business – one neighborhood at a time. 

ROLE was founded on the basic belief that each life has value and serves a unique purpose – that we all make a difference and contribute to the common good. 

ROLE’s vision is of a world where all people:

• Have sufficient resources to meet their basic need for food and shelter;
• Can easily access professional care to assure physical and mental wellbeing; 
• Share in the just distribution of resources and have equal access to opportunity;
• Receive equitable reward for their effort and  share in the benefits of success;
• Participate in the peaceful reconciliation of disputes and have an assurance of personal safety and social justice;
• Are engaged in meaningful work and purposeful activities that promote a sense of accomplishment and self-fulfillment; and,
• Are encouraged and supported towards continued personal, professional, financial and spiritual growth through access to lifelong learning and social enrichment opportunities.

ROLE's InLife Community Concierge and Wellness Service serves as the doorway into a network of neighborhood based services all committed to helping people gain the skills and resources they need to succeed. 

We help people looking for help figure out what they really need and then find the right resource in their neighborhood to meet their unique needs and circumstances.  We help people work through the process of obtaining the benefits, services and resources they need to solve their problems and fully participate in life and their community.

We also know that “help” really doesn’t help at all if the community program that is supposed to serve you or should be able to meet your needs doesn’t have the resources or expertise to do so. 

ROLE's Chamber of Compassion works with neighborhood based programs across the Country to build their capacity to meet the needs of those they so valiantly serve.  ROLE offers neighborhood based groups a range of specialized services to help them increase their ability to raise funds, improve their effectiveness in helping others, and realize their vital missions for their communities.

Together with neighborhood based nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and independent professionals across the Country, ROLE is weaving a tapestry of compassion, commerce and community at the neighborhood level to replace the broken federal social safety net that has failed so many Americans.

We are often asked why the name River of Light Enterprise?

River is a metaphore for movement, its a place of peace, a place of commerce, a place where people gather to meet and share stories, its a place of dreams.

Light is a metaphore for the illumination of the soul we all seek through positive, loving compassion and peace in our lives, neighborhoods and among all people

An Enterprise is a purposeful undertaking that requires effort, boldness and a readiness to embark on new ventures.

We also often use the accroynm ROLE - to remind us of the important role we all play in "being the change" we all seek in this world.
